Q: How do I lower my premium?
A: Discounts are the most effective way to get lower rates. There are many different ways you can qualify. Here are some of the most common discounts offered: homeowner, proof or prior, renewal and mutli-car.
Q: I have the state minimum liability. Does this cover my vehicle's damage?
A: No, it does not cover your vehicle. State minimum liability pays the other party or claiment for bodily injury and property damages if you are found liable or at fault in an auto accident.
Q: Since I have insurance on my car, am I able to drive anyone else's car and still be covered?
A: No, when you get coverage for your vehicle, it is specifically for your vehicle. There is a non-owners policy that provides liability coverage on vehicles used by the insured. It does not cover commercial use.
Q: Do I need a Texas driver's license to get coverage?
A: No. Today you can get insurance with many forms of ID. Although a Texas license is best, you can use a matricula, Texas ID, Mexican voter's card and international license.
Q: If I'm stopped by the police and don't have a license, but do have insurance, will I still get a ticket?
A: Yes, you will receive a ticket for driving without a license but will not get a ticket for driving without coverage.
Q: Do I have to give my social security number to get a policy?
A: No. Many companies base their insurance rates on your driving history and location, and do not need to run a credit score.
Q: Do all Renters policies cover the same things?
A: No. Renters polices have several different coverages they offer. Some companies offer polices that do not cover a break-in or replacement cost. So, check with your agent before purchasing to make sure you get the coverages you want and need.
Q: What areas do you offer policies for?
